Governance and Management

Each member wishing to participate on the COCAMO Board chooses one individual to represent their organisation at the Annual General Meeting. The Chairperson is elected at this meeting. The Board usually meets twice a year. The Board determines the members that sit on the Executive Committee and the office-bearer positions. The Governing Committee meets five to six times a year often by conference call.

COCAMO is an incorporated not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation.
Members make financial contributions. Cash contributions are fund-raised by members with charitable status from the Canadian public.

The Executive Director and a part time accountant constitute the Ottawa secretariat. The Executive Director has responsibility for overall programme strategy, coordination and staffing. He facilitates the work of the Board and other committees.

The COCAMO programme is located in Nampula and is staffed by a Field Coordinator, three senior programme and administrative staff, two administrative staff. The Field Director is responsible for the operational side of the programme. He ensures smooth programme delivery through planning, implementation, monitoring, review of programmes and reporting.
